I like using a deeper pressure for most massages. I think it is important to spend time warming and working the muscles to prepare for the deep pressure. I am always looking to meet you where you are at then push you slightly further. There is no one size fits all in massage and I can always do more, or less pressure once communicated.

Creating boundaries using draping techniques and experience to make sure you feel comfortable on the table at all times. Checking in on my client whether it be pressure or if someone is comfortable with an area to be worked on. Building trust is important to me and makes for a long standing professional relationship.

Having a deeper understanding of the body is important for any healing practice and I want to share my experience and skills with you.

A background of both eastern and western modalities allows me to approach each problem uniquely. It's great to have a different perspective with which to address their issues.

The styles I practice are Tui Na, Swedish, Trigger Point Therapy and Clinical Massage. I also use Chinese Medicine tools such as Gua-Sha scraping tools

There are parallels between eastern and western medicine. One viewpoint being correct doesn’t make the other viewpoint inherently incorrect. Being able to answer your health questions from either viewpoint is a part of my style of Massage Therapy.

Addressing your issues and making meaningful progress in your wellness brings me joy.

If you have any questions about what would go into a session please feel free to contact me or read below!

What goes into a session?

Every session begins with an intake interview. Durring this 5-15 minute I would like to discuss any injuries, chronic pain, work related or sports/exercise related stress.

Intake Interview

How are you feeling since the last time I saw you, any notible changes?

I am feeling great you really helped my right leg recover, although I have been picking up more shifts during the weekend and my lower back has been hurting at night.

Are there any added movements or duties you have been assigned?

Yes I have been tasked with driving the forklift because I am the only certified driver.

Okay thank you this gives me a better idea of what may have changed.

Exit Interview

I also like to do exit interviews if time allows. This can include postural analysis and questions about what you enjoyed, found helpful, how you are feeling and suggestions of stretches or exercises.

Style and Pressure

My pressure usually sits comfortably at medium to firm however if medical conditions(i.e Fibromyalgia)need a lighter pressure that will always be accomodated.

My style will always lean more towards pain relief, increase of range of motion and trigger point/OM points. Some call it sports massage others call it clinical or therapeutic massage. If there is a lingering issue we will target that. Most clients will experience initial discomfort and some may not like that.

A well known secret of most studios is that when buying a one hour session you are only receiving 50 minutes hands on. You are paying for 60 minutes hands on so the session may be 70 minutes including a introduction and a exit talk. These short intakes are more important during the first few sessions where we can do a short postural analysis to determine where I can focus to use our time effectively.
